epistemology is the study of knowledge. knowledge is belief based on evidence. there exists a special condition of knowledge; truth. we have truth when evidence becomes belief. it does not follow that belief becomes evidence. when belief becomes evidence, self-delusion and self-rightousness ensues. faith is then simply a promise that the presented evidence will become belief through truth. faith is not an acceptance of belief without evidence, but instead an acknowledgment that evidence is given through the special case of knowledge.
